Frequently Asked Questions about orthotic insoles

1.What do orthotic insoles do?

Axign orthotic insoles are specialised footbed inserts designed to replace the standard insoles in your footwear. They provide structured arch support to help improve alignment, reduce strain, and relieve pressure on the heels and arches. Even if you don’t experience pain, these insoles can enhance overall comfort, stability, and balance during everyday activities.

2.Are these insoles suitable for plantar fasciitis?

Yes. These insoles are engineered to help reduce heel and arch discomfort by supporting the foot’s natural shape. The contoured orthotic footbed helps minimise pressure on the plantar fascia while providing targeted cushioning and stability. They are also beneficial for flat feet, overpronation, heel spurs, Achilles tendinitis, and other common foot conditions.

3.Are these insoles suitable for flat feet?

Yes. The flexible yet supportive construction makes these insoles an effective option for flat feet. They help support the foot’s natural arch, improve pressure distribution, and enhance balance, making them suitable for individuals with fallen arches or overpronation.

4.Will these insoles fit in my shoes?

Absolutely. Their lightweight, flexible design allows them to fit comfortably in most footwear, including casual sneakers, work shoes, running trainers, and boots. They offer a quick and cost-effective way to improve the comfort and support of your existing shoes. For best results, ensure your shoes have removable insoles so there is enough space to accommodate them.

5.Are these insoles comfortable for daily wear?

Yes. Axign orthotic insoles are designed for all-day comfort and support. They’re suitable for walking, running, long workdays on your feet, and general everyday use.

6. How do I know which insoles are right for me?

We offer a range of options to suit your personal preferences and cater to specific conditions:
Balance Full Length – A Medium-density orthotic insole, ideal for both regular and first-time orthotic wearers or those looking for a supportive, everyday option. Recommended for those under 110kg. We recommend this option for the majority of people requiring an orthotic insole.
Slimline 3/4 Length – The same great support as the Balance Full Length but with a compact design to fit into shoes without a removeable insole such as business shoes, boots, etc.
Diabetic Arthritis Relief – The same great support as the Balance Full Length. Made with a skin-friendly Plastazote Medical Grade Lining which allows for easy cleaning, ideal for diabetics, chronic pain and skin condition sufferers.
Met Dome – The same great support as the Balance Full Length but with the extra Metataral Dome attached. Designed to lift and support the metatarsals in addition to supporting the arch. Ideal for forefoot conditions like metatarsalgia, Morton’s neuroma, fat pad atrophy, and general forefoot pain.
Sport Active and Work Active – A Harder-density orthotic insole, ideal for those who have previously worn custom orthotics and are looking for firmer support. They have a reinforced arch, ensuring optimal support during strenuous activities. Best suited to those over 110kg or those looking for the greatest density and lift through the arch. Also the most suitable one for those with higher arches.
Supination High Arch – Correction for those who “roll outwards” or Supinate. Only a small minority of the population (less than 10%) will require this type of orthotic as the majority of people actually “roll inwards” or "pronate".

7.Can I use the insoles in multiple pairs of shoes?

Yes. These removable insoles can be transferred between different pairs of shoes, allowing you to maintain consistent comfort and support throughout your day. Some customers choose to purchase additional pairs to avoid swapping them between shoes.

8.How do I choose the correct size?

You can refer to the sizing guide provided on the product page. If you’d like personalised assistance, our customer service team is available via chat to help determine the best size based on your foot shape and measurements.

9.Can I trim the front of the insoles?

Yes. The front portion of the insole (toe area) is designed primarily for shock absorption and can be trimmed without affecting the structural arch support. For trimming instructions, please refer to the guide on the back of the product packaging.

10.Where is Axign based, and where do orders ship from?

Axign is a fully Australian-owned company headquartered in Melbourne. All orders are dispatched directly from our facility in Knoxfield, ensuring fast and reliable shipping throughout Australia.

11.Are your insoles recommended by health professionals?

Yes. Axign slides, shoes, insoles, and footwear products are widely recommended and stocked by podiatrists, physiotherapists, and other allied health professionals across Australia. Our products are developed in collaboration with podiatrists and footwear specialists to ensure they deliver the support and biomechanical benefits clinicians look for.

12.What happens if the size or fit isn’t right?

No problem. We provide a 45-day return or exchange policy to ensure you get the right fit. If your footwear doesn’t feel quite right, you can easily arrange a swap or return. Our goal is to help you achieve the ideal fit so you can walk with complete comfort and confidence.
